Agatha Christie's Masterpieces - Detective Fiction

In the novel "A Murder is Announced", a bizarre notice in a village newspaper invites residents to attend a "murder" at a local cottage at 6:30 PM. Believing it to be a harmless parlor game, curious neighbors gather at the specified time, only for the lights to go out and real gunshots to fire.
